Catch 22 are working with a leading national Facilities Management provider to recruit a Buyer to join their Procurement team based in Darlington.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious procurement professional looking to develop their career within a structured and growing business. The role offers hands-on exposure to supplier management, sourcing activities, spend analysis and procurement governance, with particular focus on FM and M&E categories.
As Buyer, you will support procurement activity across a range of facilities management categories, helping to drive value, supplier performance and compliance across the business. You will work closely with operational teams, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure procurement processes are efficient, commercially focused and aligned to business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support assigned FM and M&E procurement categories.
- Review spend data, identify trends and highlight cost-saving opportunities.
- Support supplier reviews, onboarding and preferred supplier management.
- Assist with RFQs, tender exercises and quotation evaluations.
- Conduct market research and supplier benchmarking activities.
- Support supplier frameworks, pricing agreements and rebate tracking.
- Maintain procurement records, supplier documentation and compliance data.
- Work with operational teams to ensure consistent procurement practices across the business.
- Contribute to procurement reporting, savings tracking and supplier performance initiatives.
About You
- Previous experience in a Buyer, Junior Buyer or Procurement Support position.
- Strong understanding of procurement and purchasing processes.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Experience within Facilities Management, engineering, maintenance or M&E supply chains would be advantageous.
- CIPS qualification, or working towards one, is desirable but not essential.
- Experience using MRP or ERP systems would be beneficial.
