Our client are a market-leading business from within the student accommodation sector are looking for an experienced Building Technician to join their facilities team in Birmingham.

Working as part of a team, the successful applicant will be accountable for providing a well maintained, safe, secure, clean, compliant and effecient environment, delivering high quality planned and reactive maintenace.

Role responsibilities:

• Undertaking general maintenance work within properties incl; window and door repairs, fire alarm activations & false alarms, reactive maintenance support, fault finding and rectifying, PPM planned inspections,  support with PPM activities, rectifying or reporting any remedial work and any Health & Safety related calls).
• Responsible for getting to know and actively listening to the students, directing them to available support whenever it is needed.
• Accountable for responsiveness and taking appropriate action on receipt of student feedback and any other maintenance requests from across the business.
• Accountable for maintaining a safe environment for everyone, the completion and recording of basic monitoring and compliance where trained to do so.
• Accountable for keeping a clean, tidy and well maintained environment.
• Logging of maintenance issues and follow up accordingly.

• Oversee specialist contractors/trades people onsite
• Responding to call outs when acting as on call operative based on the rota
• DBS check required
• Driving License required - travelling between sites to deliver maintenance and upkeep across a group of sites. 

You will benefit by having technical capabilities:

• Basic joinery skills
• Basic plastering – repairing holes in walls etc..
• Basic domestic plumbing skills
• Complete like for like electrical changes including safety isolation
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation

• Salary up to £24,750 + bonus schemes
• Regular shifts working between 08:00 and 20:00 (Some weekend work will be required and the successful applicant will be on the on call rota but will be given an on call standby allowance)

Our Client is a leading Facilities Management organisation and is looking for someone to carry out maintenance on a small number of office spaces and working with a well known global financial company based in Leeds. The ideal candidate will be multi-skilled within a number of technical abilities but primarily have an electrical bias.

The responsibilities of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be;

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance
• Carry out reactive & emergency breakdown tasks
• Assisting team members when required
• Reducing the sites energy consumption
• Overseeing visiting subcontractors
• Adopt a flexible attitude in relation to assisting on other properties within the portfolio
• Carry out work in a safe & diligent manner
• Working on call, 1 in 5. Mon – Fri hours with overtime available on weekends and bank holidays.

The ideal Electrical Maintenance Engineer will have;

• Relevant electrical qualifications such as 2392, 2360, 2391, C&G Level III & 18th edition
• Knowledge of/or willingness to learn other technical disciplines such as mechanical, heating, building maintenance.
• Experience of working in a maintenance role
• Knowledge of electrical systems on a commercial building
• Proactive approach to work life
• Able to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults

If you are successful in this role as a Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will receive;

• Salary of around £36,500
• Holidays 25 days + Bank Holidays
• Company van (Including personal use) + Fuel expenses paid
• Good working hours, Mon- Fri with flexibility
• Overtime rates + on call payment of £140
