Maintenance Operative (multi-trade), London/ mobile, to c£45k plus great package

The Role

We’re looking for an in-house Maintenance Specialist to keep our growing number of managed offices running smoothly, whilst ensuring that new offices we’re opening are finished to the highest standards.

You will be:

The first line of service: running a first assessment of the situation: carry out repairs or recommending a specialist contractor on site

Performing site inspections, identifying and reporting the need for major repairs

When required, you’ll be present when contractors attend sites and ensure completion of the works are up to company standards.

Performing maintenance and repairs including leaks, changing taps, general plumbing, tiling, minor electrical works, lock changes etc. As well as some decorating works: Painting, pictures frames etc.

Providing support to the wider operations team during tenants move-ins (whiteboards, fixing TVs on walls etc)

Performing light carpentry (e.g. building cabinets)

About you

Proven experience within maintenance or construction.

Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.

Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing & HVAC systems.

Basic maths skills.

As an expert problem solver, you can think outside the box to come up with solutions.

Good communication ability and confidence in front of clients. You will be representing the company in a professional manner.

Well-organised with good attention to detail.

Health and safety is a priority and you can spot problems before they happen.

Comfortable working alone and also as part of a team.

The Role: 

As the Maintenance Manager, you will oversee a team of maintenance specialists, provide expert guidance on technical queries and personally handle more complex maintenance issues that require advanced expertise. This position combines management, technical problem-solving and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients.

• Lead and manage a team of maintenance specialists, ensuring high-quality service delivery and work at offices across central London
• Act as the primary point of contact for more complex maintenance queries from the team
• Visit sites to assess quality standards and assist with complex issues
• Provide expert guidance to team members to resolve technical challenges promptly
• Ensuring work completed by the in-house maintenance team meets client expectations and adheres to industry standards
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, prepare RAMS and necessary approval documents for works, liaise with 3rd party maintenance contractors when required and undertake inspections for commercial properties
• Assist in preparation of proposals, budget and schedule for maintenance projects
• Enforce adherence to safety protocols for team members and ensure potential risks are identified and minimised.

About You:

• Exceptional management, communication and organisational skills
• Strong proficiency in maintenance tools, equipment and techniques with a solid understanding of commercial building systems, electrical, plumbing and general maintenance.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, being able to self-manage and using own initiative to proactively solve problems
• Adaptable - you can adapt your communication style based on who you’re speaking to, and you’re not afraid to manage expectations when necessary
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Salary and Package

Catch 22 are working with a Facilities Management organisation who are seeking a Health & Safety Compliance Administrator to manage and maintain compliance and documentation across their property portfolio.

Working in Manchester City Centre, the successful candidate will have experience working with health and safety documentation and possess strong administrative skills, ensuring accurate management of records and compliance.

 Details of the role

• Manage and coordinate building safety related information, review and form the safety records.
• Carry out research and consult relevant guidance.
• Undertake Administrative tasks including drafting reports, data management & continuous CPD.
• Any other duties are required by the role.

The ideal candidate

• 3+ years’ previous experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience with Facilities Management or property – e.g., housing, building maintenance, asset management, compliance, or health & safety.
• Possess key fire & safety understanding with a willingness to further develop their knowledge.
• Excellent administration skills with attention to detail and strong data management and interpersonal abilities.
• Seek support from colleagues when required
• IOSH or NEBOSH would be beneficial

Role Benefits
